Comparative Health Care Systems, and the Ethics of Health Care Rationing

Course Description: 

The British health care system and the values and tradeoffs involved; policies underlying the system; relevance of the core principles of the British system to the system in the U.S. How do the U.S. and the U.K. balance providing access to health care with constraining the overall cost of care? At the level of the individual patient, how do the two systems approach the issue of rationing health care?
