Stanford graduate student Nisrin Elamin discusses her fieldwork in Sudan and the reaction to investments in Sudan coming from Muslim-majority countries like Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Nisrin is Ph.D. Candidate in Anthropology at Stanford and a recipient of the 2014 Abbasi Program Student Grant for the Study of Islam and Muslim Societies.
